This is exactly the problem that I have been having and it has caused chaos with me having to constantly backup, master reset and restore. I tried upgrading the software online and then gave up and sent it back to Sony who supposedly fixed it with a different software upgrade – but it didn’t work.

I have now deleted my sim contacts and will see what happens.

I will be ecstatic if it works as I otherwise adore the phone and was gutted at the thought of having to get rid of it (although a Sony X1 would be rather nice!)

Thank you! A shame that Sony’s customer services weren’t as knowledgeable.
